Outside normal surgery hours, if you urgently need to see a doctor please telephone 111
After 6.30pm on weekdays, on all weekends and bank holidays, calls will be taken by Herts Urgent Care on telephone number 111.
Herts Urgent Care is staffed by GPs from the local area and works from a centre at Hertford County Hospital.
If you need emergency medical attention you will normally be asked to attend the centre although there are facilities to visit you at home.
Please do not go to Herts Urgent Care without phoning first because the service is by appointment only.
Enhanced Access – Evening and Saturday Appointments
From 1st October 2022, the previous Extended Access service has altered in line with national changes to this service.
The newly named ‘Enhanced Access’ is continuing to be run by the local GP Federation, Generating Healthcare, and is available for patients registered at the following surgeries:
– Wallace House Surgery
– Hanscombe House Surgery
– Castlegate Surgery
– Watton Place Clinic
This service continues to offer routine appointments Monday to Friday from 18:30-20:30 and Saturday from 09:00-17:00 with a GP, nurse, or other healthcare professional. Hanscombe House surgery in Hertford continues to remain the host practice for this service.
